On the Lower East Side of Manhattan, dive bars are all over the place. This is not one of them. For an upscale, nicer, atmosphere (read: no sticky floors, no crowded rooms, and yes, you could take a date here), venture in for a cocktail or two (and some delicious food). What We Drink While We're Here: With a strong list of Japanese inspired seasonal cocktails, it’s hard to go wrong. We always start with a refreshing cocktail from the extensive highball menu before venturing into something more heady for the main drink of the night.
Ambiance: A mix of the Tokyo minimalist approach, with amazing dark wood and lighter highlights, the Lower East Side's low light and unmarked door opens to a crowd of very in-the-know individuals. They're looking forward to a Japanese inspired cocktail from the likes of proprietor and the bar's namesake Kento Goto.
Cocktail Menu Highlights: The Ume Fizz (Japanese Plum Brandy, Mirabelle, & Soda) garnished with a sweet and salty pickled plum is always a great way to start. And definitely check out their other craft cocktails on the menu that changes seasonally
